Tailgating Kit
I'm a prepper. Not for Doomsday...for Tailgating
Why a tailgating kit? I'll tell you why although it's pretty self explanatory. Tailgating isn't just a portable charcoal grill and beer. Its a chance to show off your culinary and entertainng capabilies - on a tailgate. And that my friend, is cool shit.
Having a kit pepared and keeping it in a handy tote will allow you to keep your tailgating basics readily available, especially for those concerts or games where you have to hit the road right after you leave the office on a Thursday or Friday night. This kit is packed with enough supplies to last a few games or concerts with a few extra guests. Most of the shit I have packed I actually had on hand, the rest of it I was able to pick up pretty cheap at the nearest Big Lots store. I even raided my basement and scrounged up a medium sized tote and BOOM! Just saved myself like $8. I also used a large rectangle Rubbermaid foodstorage container to hold on to smaller items.
Here is a basic list of items I used to put my kit together. It's a pretty good starting point, but it's best to customize a tailgating kit to fit your needs.
- Medium Tote
- Large Food Storage Container
- Zip lock bags (ranging sizes from 2gal - 1qt)
- Keg Cups
- Plates
- Napkins
- Straws
- Can/Bottle Koozies (not pictured)
- Can Opener
- Tongs
- Grilling Utensils
- Bottle Opener
- Salt and Pepper
- Multi Purpose BBQ Seasoning (I made my own and call it Tailgate Dirt)
- Puke Can (I'll get to that one later)
- Garbage Bags
- Cleaner (a simple solution of Orange Peel and Vinegar in a spray bottle works well)
- TP (because you just never know)
- Paper Towels
- Wet Wipes
- Cutting Board
- Picnic Knife (it's a cute little knife that comes with a nice little cover)
- Chip Clip
- Tampons
- Band Aids
- Neosporin/Bacatracin
- Pepto Bismol
- Tums
- Tylenol
